How to Install DAMLY Infrared Gas Brooder for Poultry

  • The installation must be in accordance with the current legal and regulatory requirements and must be carried out according to the manufacture’s prescriptions and instructions.
  • It is also the responsibility of the installer to respect the current prescriptions and regulations with reference to the type of farm building.
  • The installation must be verified and checked by a qualified technician at least every three years.
  • check that heaters are hung securely.
  • Systematic and complete cleaning of heaters is obligatory between rearing cycles. During extended cycles, cleaning must be effected every 10 weeks.
  • Installation and maintenance of the heaters need to be effected by a qualified professional in conformity with the applicable rules and the state of the art.
  • SUNFLOWER+ may not be used in domestic dwelling.
  • Do not use the inlet connection or the gas (safety) valve to support the heater.
  • Sufficient fresh air must be able to enter the poultry house at any time. Its volume needs to match the combustion air needed and the air consumed by animal and staff. The amount of combustion air needed is 23m3/h/kW.
  • Installation of DAMLY Infrared Gas Brooder
  • Only use standardized flexible gas hose for propane (G31) or for natural gas (G20)
  • Tightness of the gas connection needs to be checked with a solution of soap and water after opening the line valve ahead of heater
DANGER: never use a naked flame to check gas tightness
ATTENTION: the flexible hose must never along its whole length:
  • Enter into contact with any heated part of the heater
  • Be touched by the heating surface of the heater
The flexible hose must be fitted without any stress or tension. It must remains in sight over its entire length. Furthermore, its angles should not allow birds from sitting on it.
  • Infrared Gas Brooder Location
  • Each building has its own characteristics that may depending on local conditions considerably influence heat requirements.
  • Heat requirement must be calculated by a heating engineer. The necessary heat input must be adapted to the specifications of the building and the animals.
  • The brooder must be mounted horizontally or with a little angle like the drawing below:
  • Keep the air inlet and air outlet free of obstructions.
  • It is necessary to have a minimum space around the heater in order to have good air flow and sufficient space for maintenance.
  • Fit a gas filter in the supply line.
  • Suspension by 2 independent chains.
